Best OEE software in 2026: an honest comparison

What OEE software costs, how the main vendors price it, where the hardware money goes, and how to tell whether any of it pays back. Competitors are named, their published prices are quoted as published, and gaps are marked as gaps.

What does OEE software cost in 2026?

Independent 2026 pricing guides put OEE software at roughly $30–150 per machine per month, plus a one-time $200–2,000 per machine for hardware depending on integration depth. A 5–10 machine line commonly lands between $3,000 and $15,000 in the first year. Coneqt OEE publishes ₹499, ₹999 and ₹1,499 per machine per month — around US$6–18 — with gateway hardware quoted separately.

What do the main vendors charge?

Only self-published prices appear below. Where a vendor does not publish a figure, the cell says so — a blank is information, and inventing a competitor's number would make this page worthless. Prices were checked in September 2026 and vendors change them without notice.

Vendor Based Published price Hardware

How is OEE software usually priced?

Per machine, per month is the dominant model, and it is what most manufacturers should expect to be quoted. Independent 2026 pricing guides put the software line at roughly $30–150 per machine per month, with hardware charged once at $200–2,000 per machine depending on how deeply it integrates.

Two other models exist. A flat per-site subscription covers unlimited machines at one plant and gets cheaper per asset as you add machines. Per-user pricing shows up mostly in maintenance and CMMS products, and it penalises you for giving the shop floor visibility — which is usually the point of buying.

Per machine, per month — predictable, scales with the floor, easiest to start small.
Per site, flat — better value at high machine counts, worse for a pilot.
Per user — avoid where the goal is plant-wide visibility.

Why is Coneqt so much cheaper than the Western vendors?

Because it is priced for the Indian market in rupees, and because hardware is not bundled into the subscription. At ₹499–1,499 per machine per month Coneqt sits well below the $30–150 band those guides describe — but the comparison is not like-for-like against a vendor such as GlobalReader, which includes the sensor hardware in its monthly figure.

Read it this way: Coneqt’s subscription is genuinely low, and the gateway or metering hardware a site needs is quoted separately. Ask any vendor, including us, for the first-year total rather than the sticker price.

Where does the hardware money go?

Hardware is the biggest variable in any OEE project. Non-intrusive sensors that count cycles, states and stops without touching the PLC typically run $200–600 per machine. Deep PLC and automation integration can reach $1,000–2,000 or more per machine, and it consumes engineering time and some machine downtime to install.

This is why "does it need new hardware?" matters more than the monthly fee on a ten-machine line. Some vendors bundle it, most quote it, and a few quietly assume you already have the sensors.

How do you tell whether it pays back?

Use machine-hour arithmetic rather than a vendor ROI calculator. The rule of thumb published by independent OEE benchmarks: at a running cost of €100 or more per machine-hour, recovering a single lost hour per machine per month usually covers a per-machine subscription.

Put your own numbers in. If one recovered hour a month does not cover the fee, the software is not the problem — the fee is too high for that asset, and you should monitor the machines where it does.

What should you actually compare?

Price is the easiest thing to compare and rarely the deciding factor. These are the questions that separate vendors once the shortlist is down to three:

Is hardware included, quoted, or assumed? Get the first-year total in writing.
Does it read your existing PLCs, or does it need its own sensors on every asset?
Can you start with one machine, and can you leave with your data? Check export and API access by tier.
Multi-site: is it a tier upgrade or a separate contract?
Support in your timezone and language, and who answers when a line is down at 2am.
Local invoicing: currency, GST, and whether input credit works cleanly.
What happens on cancellation — notice period, data export, and hardware ownership.

Where does Coneqt fit, and where does it not?

Coneqt fits a plant that wants live OEE, energy or maintenance data off machines it already owns, priced in rupees, starting with one machine and one line — and wants the price on a public page rather than after three calls.

It is not the right answer for everyone. We publish no certifications or audit reports. The public API reference is still being written, though Enterprise includes API access. We are India-based, so a plant needing on-site engineers in another timezone should weigh that. And Coneqt is a monitoring and management platform, not a full MES and not a safety system.

Want the first-year total for your own asset list?

Send us the machine list. You get subscription plus any gateway cost in one figure, in writing, before anything is installed.

Start with one line. Scale to the whole network.

A two-week pilot on a single line, on your data, with your team. No rip-and-replace and no new hardware in most plants.

We use only what this site needs to work, plus aggregate traffic counts. No advertising trackers, and we do not sell audience data.
